A transformative weekend for men who want to live an authentic, meaningful, and responsible life.
In an ever-changing society, ManKind Project Romania offers men a safe space to grow, heal, and connect authentically.
Here, you’ll meet men who live with courage, vulnerability, and integrity—men who are following their personal mission and will guide you in discovering your own potential.
It is a community where you are encouraged to become the leader of your own life, to take responsibility for who you are, and to contribute to a more conscious, empathetic, and balanced world.
MKP Romania is part of a global network of men committed to integrity, emotional maturity, and personal development. We believe in conscious masculinity, connected to purpose and community.
A Contemporary Introduction to Mature Masculinity
In modern times, the rituals through which boys become men have been lost. NWTA brings this transition back—a profound, safe, and authentic process, supported by a global community of men who choose courage, integrity, and purpose.
NWTA is an intense experience of self-discovery and initiation. You’ll join a brotherhood of men dedicated to personal growth and inner transformation. No matter who you are or where you come from, you’re welcome to embark on this journey.
Take the step toward becoming the man you were meant to be.
Get ready for a 48-hour adventure
that could transform your life as a man.
Embark on a journey that will fundamentally transform your experience of being a man and the way you view the world. Enhance every relationship, starting with the one you have with yourself. Embody the man, husband, partner, father, and brother you were born to be. The New Warrior Training Adventure is a life-affirming personal development event that honors the very best that men on this planet have to offer.
Only you can decide if you’re ready to take part in the Adventure. Not every man is ready for this, but most are. It’s natural to feel some apprehension about signing up, but most men are glad they took the plunge.
The registration process is simple: after filling out the form, you’ll be directed to the payment page, and once payment is complete, you’ll be registered for the Adventure you’ve chosen.
After making the initial payment, you’ll be automatically redirected to our registration system, where you’ll create a user account and complete three additional online forms (Medical Questionnaire, Confidentiality Agreement and Release Form, and Diversity Monitoring). Only after these additional forms have been completed and processed will your spot be confirmed.
We request that all payments be made at least two weeks before the Adventure. We are committed to the principle that no man will be excluded for financial reasons. Scholarships are available for men with low incomes.

“A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that challenged my limits, my inner wounds, and my distorted view of life as a man. A space where I discovered what had been holding me back from being the man I would have truly been proud of. An intense and carefully structured event, designed to help me see how I hurt myself and those I love, to face the pain I may experience myself or inflict on others, and to learn the art of transforming it all into personal responsibility—I discovered that this is the gateway to liberation from the past.”
— A New Warrior
Most men can admit that they didn’t receive enough paternal guidance; many feel they grew from boy to man without much guidance. The ManKind Project cannot replace the absence of these elder guides, but it can empower men to guide themselves and, over time, become the elders and fathers of the future. Together, we can positively shape the future of other boys and young men. Together, we can contribute to more conscious and harmonious relationships between women and men. Together, we can play our part in creating a future we can be proud of.
Adventure is a modern initiation and exploration of the masculine self. We believe this is crucial for the development of a healthy and mature masculine self, regardless of a man’s age. It is the “hero’s journey” found in classical literature and myths, which has nearly disappeared from modern culture. We invite men to set aside distractions and embark, alongside other men, on their own authentic adventure.
All men are welcome, regardless of race, social class, sexual orientation, faith, age, ability, ethnicity, or nationality.
Who, What, and Where? … The Adventure in a Nutshell
The Setup: You’ll join a group of 15–40 other men at a specially selected location in Romania. You’ll be asked to carpool for transportation, both out of environmental consciousness and as a way to start building connections and camaraderie with the other participants.
From Friday afternoon through Sunday afternoon (including meals, breaks, and sleep), you’ll participate in a series of processes and activities—all designed with a single purpose: to help every man in the group step into his own unique identity as a man among men. Some activities are individual; others are group processes. There will be physical activities, writing, and visualizations. It will be one of the most intense weekends of your life.
You’ll be guided on this journey by a team of 20–50 men serving as staff. Some will be on staff for the first time, while others have decades of experience and advanced training. Every member of the staff will contribute to shaping your weekend experience.
On Sunday afternoon, after we celebrate your success, you’ll head home. It’s a good idea to plan for a quiet evening. Some men choose to take Monday off to process the experience and catch up on sleep. It’s up to you what you do with what you’ve learned about yourself and others. For many, Monday morning marks the beginning of a life with a renewed sense of vitality and purpose.
There are NWTAs in other languages in other countries, if you feel more comfortable participating in another language.
Or you can check the LINKS page to find other MKP organizations in Europe and see if they have an NWTA closer to you, in your language.
From your arrival on Friday until your departure on Sunday, you will not have access to cars, computers, or phones, except in emergencies. The training is designed to take you out of your “ordinary” life and into an “extraordinary” space, where you will be able to see yourself and your life with greater clarity. You are asked to organize your life so that you can be fully engaged in the training for its entire duration, without external distractions. This dedicated focus is part of the training’s power.
Outdoor activities are included, so you should bring clothing that will keep you dry and warm. You should bring a sleeping bag that will keep you warm if you’re camping at that time of year. You should have one pair of shoes for outdoors and one for indoors. Travel light. You’ll be far too busy to even read a newspaper.
This training does not include assault courses or military-style training. Macho or violent behavior will not be tolerated. There will be no alcohol, caffeine, or smoking throughout the weekend. For part of the course, food choices are limited to keep the men alert. Any man with a reported medical condition will be closely monitored throughout the training.
ManKind Project Romania brings together a highly motivated and experienced staff to lead the training programs. Most staff members are volunteers, and because they have all gone through the initiation process themselves, they have a deep understanding of male initiation and authentic self-exploration.
The training leaders have years of experience working with men in transformative settings. They have been repeatedly evaluated by their peers within the ManKind Project and accredited to lead the New Warrior Training Adventure—a serious responsibility. Their commitment is to the safety and success of every man during the training weekend.
Ultimately, however, you lead your own training through the responses and decisions you make throughout your journey. The staff and leaders serve as guides and mentors, but you choose your own level of involvement. Only you can decide how far you’re willing to explore the inner terrain of your life to discover the treasures and obstacles buried within yourself. Every man is free to reject any process he chooses.
The cost of participating in the NWTA is usually 2,800. This price also includes the Online Integration Training, which is an essential part of your transition back to everyday life after the Adventure—the dates for this will be sent to you in advance.
Our policy is that no man will be excluded for financial reasons.
Scholarships are available for men with low incomes. To discuss these options, please contact us at mkp.romania@gmail.com.
If you have any questions, please contact us.
Throughout this adventure, you’ll stand shoulder to shoulder with a vast array of men, whose occupations and ages are as diverse as masculinity itself. Whether they’re unemployed or corporate executives, they all come with the shared understanding that their lives as men can be enriched with greater focus and direction, and that this personal initiation into manhood is essential to their full development.
“Some people sleep until morning. Others know they must make the morning.”
— Shlomo Carlbach
Most come because an inner voice tells them the time has come. Some come to heal conflicts with themselves or with others. Others come to find role models for a mature and positive masculinity. Some come to explore their leadership abilities and expand their skills. Others come to make a conscious transition from adolescence to manhood. Some come to find inner peace in the transition to the age of wisdom. Often, they leave with an unexpected gift.
We do not recommend this experience for just any man. We urge you not to apply to this program without serious reflection and not to sign up simply because a partner, friend, or coworker (not even your boss!) is insisting that you do so.
To fully participate, you must be willing to face the prospect of a transformative change in your life. We invite you to engage in all the activities, many of which encourage you to look at yourself honestly—facing your deepest fears and past wounds—and to learn how you can take control and improve your life.
No weekend workshop is a complete solution. We expect that perhaps a crack will open in the shield you’ve used to protect yourself—or perhaps it will even shatter completely. The awakening that results from the Adventure can be very powerful, but the Integration Training will help you make sense of the experience and provide you with tools to stay connected to your discoveries.
Continuous growth in self-awareness and personal development—which can come through participation in Men’s Groups or Integration Groups (I-Groups)—is the main reason many of us have undertaken this training. After completing the Adventure and the integration cycle, you’ll be invited to join an existing group or receive support to form your own group—these can meet in person or online.
You’ll also be invited to join the more than 70,000 men in the global ManKind Project community. Within the MKP, you can participate in advanced leadership and skills training and serve as staff at any of our trainings. You’ll also find a broader community of men, women, families, and organizations dedicated to making the world a better, safer, and more vibrant place through service missions.
Like a stone thrown into a pond, Aventura sends ripples through the lives of men, their families, and their communities. The growth and healing that men experience do not stop with them. MKP men and centers are involved in mentoring marginalized youth, working with gangs and men in prison, building shelters for the homeless, creating programs for veterans, and other causes that call for a healthy male presence in the world.
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate; our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure… As we let go of our own fear, our presence liberates others.”
— Marianne Williamson
Before any man can change the world, he must first work on the way he lives his own life. That is what truly makes a difference. That is the pebble that sets off all the ripples. First, he benefits. Then those close to him. Then others. Then the world around him. Watch the videos, read the testimonials, and learn about the projects that MKP men have created. A man who changes his own life is already making a real difference.
NO. This experience is not intended for men with active mental health issues that could lead to self-harm or violent behavior.
Please consult a mental health professional. If you’ve been undergoing ongoing treatment, talk to your doctor about whether an intensive men’s weekend might be beneficial for you.
Participation in the ManKind Project is often recognized as having positive effects for men in recovery from chemical dependency or with a history of addictive behavior.
You are encouraged to speak with your support person, if you have one. We can also arrange a conversation with a man in recovery who has completed this training, if that would be helpful to you.
If you are currently using substances or have been in recovery for less than a year, we do not recommend participating in the NWTA Adventure.
We don’t know exactly what you’ll take away from this. Your experience will be unique. You’ll learn about yourself and how you present yourself to the world. You’ll learn about your place in the community of men. You’ll learn about masculinity and the possibility of creating a new kind of Warrior—a man connected to all aspects of himself and unafraid to play his part in healing society’s wounds. You’ll see men mentoring one another, supporting each other, playing together, and creating an authentic and safe space where men are free to be exactly who they are, without defenses or masks.
It’s likely that, after you leave this training, you’ll have the opportunity to love and be loved in a way you haven’t experienced in a long time. You’ll have a gift to offer the world and the energy to share it.
“Cultures throughout history have always intended an authentic male initiation. But their vision and cultural context were limited. Since the first photograph was taken from space, we have entered a new mythological era. For the first time in human history, we are faced with the possibility of an authentic masculine initiation—an initiation into global brotherhood.”
— Dr. Robert Moore, co-author of *King, Warrior, Magician, Lover*
